It’s hard to tell from these photos, but this was our coldest wedding of 2015. Hands down. It was freezing.

But the most important thing to remember on your wedding day, this is the day you’re given and there’s nothing you can do to change it. If it rains, it rains. If it’s sunny, it’s sunny. If it snows (like it did on this day in October), it snows. But at the end of the day, you’ll be married to the person you’ve chosen to be with for the rest of your life, and that’s pretty awesome. And Carly and Mark embraced it.

They got married outside at the beautiful Lyman Estate before their closest friends and family, in 40 degree weather. Everyone had to sit a little closer, huddle together a little tighter, but after the ceremony it didn’t matter if people were chilly – they were on their feet celebrating these two.

Currently sitting in a Starbucks, staring out at a torrential downpour. Perfect blogging weather.

This is Debbie + Pat, two fantastic people who are coincidentally getting married on Saturday in Brookline. Last fall, they traveled up to Boston to shoot engagement photos at Boston University. We laughed. We laughed a lot. These are just a few of my favorites.

If this wedding is any sign of the year ahead, 2016 is going to be pretty flippin’ sweet. Julia + Dave, thanks for planning a beautiful day at The Renaissance and being the perfect couple to help us get this season started.

Beautiful! !!

Oh hey blog, longtime no see. I have woefully neglected you over the past couple months, but 2016 is nearly in full swing – so what better time to get back after it.

Winter, spring, summer, fall – give me Boston anytime of the year and I’m a happy camper. Last October, I met up with Lauren + Allen in the city to shoot engagement photos around Beacon Hill and downtown Boston. Couldn’t ask for better. Now to do it all again in June at Alden Castle.

We touched down in San Jose at 2:00 PM after a bumpy approach and shaky landing. Another hour through immigration and customs, 45 minutes hunting for our shuttle and a three hour drive from San Jose to Quepos; we finally arrived at our hotel just in time to watch the sun slip behind the horizon. An exhausting day made worthwhile by the jaw dropping panoramic views from the hotel.

So, why Costa Rica? The short answer, sloths. The longer answer, we wanted to go somewhere different and pickup another passport stamp. Besides one weekend in New Hampshire two years ago, I can’t remember the last time Frankie and I just sat on a beach. Enter Costa Rica.

My biggest takeaway from this place is how it forced me out of my comfort zone. I’m a cautious person (understatement of the year) but I tried as best I could to get out of my head for six days. We rode zip lines, climbed trees, stood three feet from the second most venous snake in Costa Rica, repelled from treetops, met new people, drank cervezas on the beach and built our days around watching the sunset. I’ve never felt more at peace.

And by the end of the week I had seen six sloths. Mission accomplished. Pura Vida.
