A Brick House Wedding in Shelburne, Vermont
Whenever a couple asks for wedding advice, I offer them one thought. Plan the wedding you want not the wedding this industry has told you you’re supposed to want. In the course of planning, you’ll be bombarded with lists that tell you the top 10 decor pieces you must have, the 25 must have photos, what your ceremony is meant to look like, how to structure your reception – it goes on and on. But at the end of the day, plan the wedding you want. There is no right or wrong, so long as at the end of the day, you’re married.
Enter Steph and Chris. When I first sat down to talk about their plans, they were already there. An intimate private ceremony at the Brick House at Shelburne Farms. A bigger reception the following evening at the Shelburne Museum surrounded by as many friends and family as they could pack into the space. No sit-down meal, instead a rolling cocktail reception leading into a killer dance party. It delivered in spades and it stands as one of the sweetest weddings we’ve had the chance to document in over six years of shooting.
So enjoy this recap including some beautiful views from the farm, old covered bridges, sunsets, dancing, and a truly wonderful couple. So excited to share this recap.
